  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper Adjust for spice preference.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Essential for seasoning.

  • vegetable oil, for frying Choose a neutral oil with a high smoke point.

Instructions
 

  • Marinate the chicken in buttermilk for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  • Prepare the coating by mixing flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
  • Dredge the marinated chicken in the seasoned flour mixture.
  • Heat oil in a skillet or deep fryer to 350°F.
  • Fry the chicken in batches for 15-18 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Drain the fried chicken on a wire rack or paper towels and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For extra crunch, consider double-dipping the chicken in the flour mixture.
