Equipment

Ingredients

Ground Beef

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend) for optimal juiciness
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder for that savory kick
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder adds depth of flavor
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika for a hint of smokiness
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 small flour tortillas soft and pliable
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese for melty goodness
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce for crunch
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes fresh and juicy
  • ½ cup diced onions adds a nice bite
  • ½ cup pickles optional, for tanginess
  • ½ cup ketchup classic condiment
  • ½ cup mustard for a zesty touch

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix gently.
  • Preheat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Divide the beef mixture into 8 equal portions, about 2 ounces each. Place each portion onto the skillet and press down to flatten into a thin patty. Cook for 2-3 minutes until browned, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Sprinkle cheese on top during the last minute and cover to melt.
  • Warm the flour tortillas in a separate skillet or microwave until pliable. Assemble the tacos by placing a cheesy smash burger patty on each tortilla.
  • Top each taco with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, onions, and pickles if desired. Drizzle ketchup and mustard over the top and serve immediately.
