Udon Noodles

  • 8 ounces udon noodles Thick noodles providing a chewy base.
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil Essential for stir-frying.
  • 1 cup shrimp Peeled and deveined.
  • 1 cup broccoli florets Adds crunch and color.
  • 1 medium carrot Julienned for sweetness.
  • 1 piece bell pepper Sliced for flavor.
  • 2 pieces green onions Chopped for garnish.
  • 3 cloves garlic Minced to enhance flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce Adds savory umami flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce For a rich taste.
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil Gives a nutty aroma.
  • salt and pepper To taste.
  • sesame seeds For garnish.

Instructions
 

  • Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  • Cook udon noodles according to package instructions, typically boiling for 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, stir-fry broccoli, carrot, and bell pepper for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp. Add minced garlic and stir for 30 seconds.
  • Return shrimp to the skillet, add udon noodles, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil. Toss gently and cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
