Broth and Noodles
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup water
- 2 packs instant ramen noodles discard seasoning packets
- 1 cup frozen dumplings chicken or pork
- 1 cup baby spinach
- 0.5 cup sliced green onions
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon ginger grated
- 1 large egg optional
- salt and pepper to taste
Prepare the dumplings by taking them straight from the freezer. Check package instructions for cooking times.
Cook the ramen noodles in the simmering broth, discarding the seasoning packets. Cook for 3-4 minutes until tender but al dente.
Make the broth by combining chicken broth and water in a large pot. Bring to a simmer and add minced garlic and grated ginger. Stir for about a minute.
Add the frozen dumplings to the broth and cook for 5-7 minutes until heated through.
Add baby spinach, soy sauce, and sesame oil to the pot. Stir gently until the spinach wilts.
If using, crack the egg into the pot and stir gently to create ribbons. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Ladle the ramen, dumplings, and broth into bowls and garnish with sliced green onions.
