Broth and Noodles

  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 packs instant ramen noodles discard seasoning packets
  • 1 cup frozen dumplings chicken or pork
  • 1 cup baby spinach
  • 0.5 cup sliced green onions
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon ginger grated
  • 1 large egg optional
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the dumplings by taking them straight from the freezer. Check package instructions for cooking times.
  • Cook the ramen noodles in the simmering broth, discarding the seasoning packets. Cook for 3-4 minutes until tender but al dente.
  • Make the broth by combining chicken broth and water in a large pot. Bring to a simmer and add minced garlic and grated ginger. Stir for about a minute.
  • Add the frozen dumplings to the broth and cook for 5-7 minutes until heated through.
  • Add baby spinach, soy sauce, and sesame oil to the pot. Stir gently until the spinach wilts.
  • If using, crack the egg into the pot and stir gently to create ribbons. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Ladle the ramen, dumplings, and broth into bowls and garnish with sliced green onions.
