Main Ingredients
- 8 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
- 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
- 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 pound breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup diced bell peppers (any color)
- 1 cup diced onion
- 4 cups cubed bread (preferably day-old)
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
In a large skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat until crumbled and browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess grease.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until well combined.
Spread the cubed bread evenly in the greased baking dish. Layer the cooked sausage, diced bell peppers, and diced onion over the bread. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the top.
Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the casserole. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until set and cheese is bubbly and golden.
Let cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
