Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons red food coloring
  • 0.5 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)
  • 24 pieces Hershey's Kisses, unwrapped

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the egg, milk, vanilla extract, and red food coloring to the butter mixture and mix until well combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
  • Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll them into balls, and coat in powdered sugar.
  • Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are set and the centers remain soft.
  • Remove from the oven and let sit for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  • Press a Hershey's Kiss into the center of each cookie while they are still warm.
  • Let the cookies cool completely on the wire rack before serving.
