Ingredients
  

Bread

  • 8 slices bread (white or whole wheat)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 cup diced ham
  • 1 cup sliced turkey or chicken
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for serving)
  • Maple syrup (for serving)

Instructions
 

  • Gather all your ingredients to make the process smoother.
  • Cut the bread into cubes and spread half in the bottom of a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until smooth.
  • Layer the diced ham and sliced turkey over the bread cubes, pour half of the egg mixture over, and sprinkle half of the cheese. Repeat with remaining ingredients.
  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Best enjoyed fresh out of the oven. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
