  • 1 cup unsalted butter 2 sticks
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon instant coffee granules

Frosting Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter 1 stick, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat, then mix in sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, and coffee granules. Gradually add to the wet mixture and fold in chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes. Check with a toothpick for doneness.
  • Allow brownies to cool completely before preparing the frosting.
  • Beat softened butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar and cocoa powder, mixing until smooth. Add milk and vanilla, and beat until spreadable.
  • Frost the cooled brownies evenly and cut into squares to serve.
