Cabbage

  • 1 pound ground beef Main protein source.
  • 1 medium onion, diced Adds sweetness and depth.
  • 1 clove garlic, minced Enhances overall taste.
  • 6 cups green cabbage, chopped Low in carbs and high in fiber.
  • 14.5 ounces diced tomatoes, undrained Adds moisture and tangy flavor.
  • 6 ounces tomato paste Thickens the mixture.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce Adds savory umami taste.
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano Brings a hint of earthiness.
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil Adds fresh, aromatic flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon salt Enhances all flavors.
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper Adds a subtle kick.
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese Creates a delicious topping.

Instructions
 

  • Wash the cabbage thoroughly under cold water, remove wilted leaves, cut into quarters, remove the core, and chop into bite-sized pieces.
  • In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat, add diced onion and minced garlic, sauté until fragrant and onion is translucent (3-4). Then add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
  • Add chopped cabbage to the skillet and cook for about 5. Then add diced tomatoes, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix well and let simmer for another 5.
  • Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish, transfer the meat and cabbage mixture, and sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake casserole for 25-30 until cheese is bubbly and golden brown. Let cool for 5 before serving.
