Instructions
 

  • Wash the asparagus under cool running water, trim the tough ends, and cut into 2-inch pieces.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine asparagus, onion, garlic, salt, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and lemon juice. Stir gently to coat.
  • Pour vegetable broth into the slow cooker, add the asparagus mixture, and drizzle with olive oil. Stir gently.
  • Cover and cook on low for 240 minutes or on high for 120 minutes.
  • Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese, cover, and let sit for an additional 10 minutes before serving.
