  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted Adds richness.
  • 1/4 cup milk Helps create a soft dough.
  • butter or oil for frying Used to cook the farls.

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the mashed potatoes by peeling, chopping, boiling, and mashing until smooth. Allow to cool slightly.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine mashed potatoes, flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix well, then add melted butter and milk to form a soft dough.
  • Turn the dough onto a floured surface, knead gently, divide into two portions, roll into circles, and cut into quarters.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat, add butter or oil, and cook the farls for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.

Notes

Keep cooked farls warm in a low oven while cooking remaining pieces.
