Pasta
- 8 ounces spaghetti or linguine
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional) for a spicy kick
- 1 lemon juiced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti or linguine and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Add shrimp to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and opaque.
Squeeze lemon juice into the skillet and add reserved pasta water. Stir to combine, then add drained pasta and toss until well coated. Stir in chopped parsley and adjust seasoning if needed.
Serve immediately, garnished with parsley and Parmesan cheese.
