Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until fully browned, about 5 to 7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  • Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 5 minutes until the onion is soft and translucent.
  • Stir in the uncooked rice, beef broth, cream of mushroom soup, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish and spread evenly.
  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil, sprinkle with Swiss cheese and French fried onions, and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
