Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Mash the ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until smooth.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: baking soda, baking powder, salt, ground cinnamon, whole wheat flour, and vanilla protein powder.
  • Add the eggs, unsweetened applesauce, honey (or maple syrup), and vanilla extract to the mashed bananas and mix until well combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir gently until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top. Fold in chopped walnuts or chocolate chips if using.
  • Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
