- 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- Sesame seeds (for garnish)
Wash chicken thighs under cold water, pat dry, cut into bite-sized pieces, and season with salt and black pepper.
Prepare the orange sauce by combining orange juice, sugar, soy sauce, rice vinegar, cornstarch, grated ginger, minced garlic, and sesame oil in a saucepan. Stir and heat until thickened, about 5-7.
Coat chicken pieces by dredging in flour, dipping in beaten eggs, and coating with panko breadcrumbs.
Heat oil in a skillet or deep fryer. Fry chicken pieces in batches for about 5-7 until golden brown and cooked through.
