Chicken
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably Italian seasoned)
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)
Prepare the chicken by rinsing under cold water and patting dry. Optionally pound to an even thickness.
In a shallow bowl, combine breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, oregano, salt, and black pepper. In another bowl, beat the egg. Dip each chicken breast in the egg, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F. Place the coated chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 10 minutes, then flip the chicken.
Add marinara sauce and shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the chicken. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until the cheese is melted and the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
