Ingredients
  

Green Beans

  • 2 cans green beans 14.5-ounce cans, drained
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms fresh or canned
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese sharp or mild
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt adjust to taste
  • 1 cup crispy fried onions for topping
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for sautéing mushrooms

Instructions
 

  • Prep the green beans by draining canned ones or washing and cutting fresh ones into bite-sized pieces.
  • Sauté sliced mushrooms in olive oil over medium heat for 5 minutes until tender.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine sautéed mushrooms with sour cream, cream of mushroom soup, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix well.
  • Fold the drained green beans into the creamy mixture and transfer to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes, then add crispy fried onions on top and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours before baking.
