A classic creamy green bean casserole that combines tender green beans, savory mushrooms, and rich cheese, perfect for holiday gatherings and family dinners.
Prep the green beans by draining canned ones or washing and cutting fresh ones into bite-sized pieces.
Sauté sliced mushrooms in olive oil over medium heat for 5 minutes until tender.
In a mixing bowl, combine sautéed mushrooms with sour cream, cream of mushroom soup, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Mix well.
Fold the drained green beans into the creamy mixture and transfer to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
Bake at 350°F for 25 minutes, then add crispy fried onions on top and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
