Ingredients
  

Pasta

  • 8 ounces fettuccine or spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 0.25 cup chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions
 

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine or spaghetti and cook until al dente, about 8-10. Drain and reserve 1/2 cup of pasta cooking water.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 until fragrant.
  • Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer, stirring occasionally.
  • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss until well coated. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta cooking water gradually.
  • Stir in grated Parmesan cheese, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix until the cheese melts and the sauce is smooth.
  • Remove from heat and serve garnished with chopped parsley.
