Ingredients
  

Pasta

  • 8 ounces fettuccine or spaghetti
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions
 

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain and reserve ½ cup of pasta water.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Reduce heat to low and add heavy cream, stirring to combine. Simmer for 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce. Cook for an additional 1 to 2 minutes, adding reserved pasta water as needed to adjust the sauce consistency.
  • Gradually add grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and the sauce is smooth. Season with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired.
