  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for sautéing
  • 1 small onion, diced provides sweetness and depth
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced adds aroma and flavor
  • 1 inch ginger, grated adds warmth and spice
  • 4 cups chicken broth essential for soup base
  • 1 cup water balances flavors
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce adds umami flavor
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil adds nutty aroma
  • 12 oz frozen potstickers the star of the dish
  • 2 cups baby spinach adds color and nutrients
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms adds earthiness
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions
 

  • Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Sauté diced onion for 3-4 minutes until soft and translucent.
  • Stir in minced garlic and grated ginger. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Add chicken broth and water, then soy sauce and sesame oil. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  • Add frozen potstickers and cook according to package instructions, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Add sliced mushrooms and baby spinach. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until spinach wilts.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste, stir, and serve.
