  • 1 cup unsalted butter 2 sticks
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan with butter or cooking spray, or line it with parchment paper.
  • Melt the unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over low heat. Stir until completely melted.
  • Remove from heat and mix in the granulated sugar until well combined.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, stirring well after each addition. Then add the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder.
  • Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick.
  • Allow the brownies to cool in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into squares.
