Instructions
 

  • Gather all ingredients.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt until smooth and slightly frothy.
  • Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, coating both sides well, and let excess drip off.
  • Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat and add butter or oil. Cook each slice for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Serve warm with maple syrup and optional powdered sugar.

Notes

Use thick slices of bread for best results. Day-old bread works well.
