  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Glaze Ingredients

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and salt. Stir until well mixed.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  • Spread the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top with a spatula.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • While the bars are baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  • Let the bars cool for about 10 minutes before drizzling the glaze over the top. Allow them to cool completely before cutting into squares.
