Apples

  • 3 cups peeled and sliced apples (about 4 medium apples)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the apples by peeling and slicing them into thin pieces, then place them in a large bowl. Drizzle lemon juice over the apples, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar, and toss gently.
  • In a separate bowl, combine rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, salt, and vanilla extract. Mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Spread the apple mixture evenly in a greased 9-inch pie dish and sprinkle the crumble topping over the apples.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving.
