Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cups pecan halves
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup molasses
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 unbaked 9-inch pie crust

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the corn syrup, brown sugar, cocoa powder, molasses, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt until smooth.
  • Stir in the pecan halves and chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  • Pour the filling into the unbaked pie crust, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until the filling is set and slightly puffed.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack for at least 2 hours before slicing.
  • Serve at room temperature or chilled.

Notes

The center may jiggle slightly when done; it will firm up upon cooling.
