  • 2 cups chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, water, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  • In another bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and softened butter until smooth.
  • Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the chocolate cake batter and swirl gently to create a marbled effect.
  • Sprinkle chocolate chips and chopped walnuts over the top and bake for 30-35 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick.
  • Allow the cake to cool in the pan for at least 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
