Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter with 3/4 cup of granulated sugar and the vanilla extract until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  • Drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Roll each ball in the extra 1/4 cup of granulated sugar before placing them on the baking sheet.
  • Bake for 9-11 minutes until the edges are lightly golden and the centers remain soft. Allow to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
