Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic until the beef is browned and the onion is translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, salt, black pepper, paprika, and frozen mixed vegetables until well combined and heated through.
Spread the beef mixture evenly in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
Layer the tater tots on top of the beef mixture in a single, even layer.
Bake for 30-35 minutes until the tater tots are golden brown. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top and return to the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes until melted and bubbly.
