Ground Beef
- 1 pound ground beef Lean ground beef is recommended.
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 12 pieces taco shells
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 0.5 cup sour cream
- 0.25 cup sliced jalapeños optional
- Fresh cilantro for garnish optional
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a large skillet, over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat. Stir in chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
Arrange taco shells in a baking dish and fill each shell with the seasoned beef mixture. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
Bake the tacos in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, and add toppings like diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, sour cream, jalapeños, and cilantro.
