Dry Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Wet Ingredients
- 1 large ripe banana, mashed
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. In another bowl, mash the ripe banana until smooth. Then, add the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix these wet ingredients until fully blended.
Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined.
Fill a donut hole pan about two-thirds full with the batter. If frying, drop spoonfuls of batter into hot oil.
Bake for about 10-12 minutes or fry for about 5-6 minutes until golden brown.
Let them cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Optionally, glaze with powdered sugar mixed with milk.
