Churro Dough
- 1 cup all-purpose flour Base of the churro dough.
- 1/2 cup water Hydrates the flour.
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter Adds richness and flavor.
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar Enhances overall flavor.
- 1/2 teaspoon salt Balances sweetness.
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds aroma and flavor.
- 2 large eggs Provides moisture and binds ingredients.
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating) Gives classic sweet crunch.
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon Essential for churro flavor.
- 1 spray cooking spray Prevents sticking.
Combine water, unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and salt in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Stir until butter melts. Remove from heat and add all-purpose flour, stirring until a dough forms. Allow to cool for 5 minutes.
Add eggs one at a time to the cooled dough, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract. Pipe small pieces of dough onto a clean surface.
Preheat air fryer to 375°F and line the basket with parchment paper, lightly sprayed with cooking spray.
Place piped dough pieces in the basket, ensuring they are not touching. Air fry for 8 to 10 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
Remove churro bites from air fryer and toss in a mixture of granulated sugar and ground cinnamon while warm.
